Easy Chocolate Chip Muffins

Three chocolate chip muffins in colorful liners on a speckled plate, set on a striped orange tablecloth, creating a warm, homey mood.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour

  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ⅔ cup (150g) butter, melted

  • 1 cup (200g) sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 ¼ cups (300ml) whole milk

  • 2 ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 ¼ cups (210g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.

  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in milk and vanilla.

  4. Blend & Fold: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently. Do not overmix—lumps are okay! Fold in chocolate chips.

  5. Fill & Bake: Divide the batter evenly among 18 muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Cool & Enjoy: Let muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Prompt

My son, who's a super picky eater and would never taste the delicious fruit sponge cake muffins I made, was begging me for chocolate chip muffins. I could, of course, not refuse. He even finished all his dinner just to get me to promise I would make them. So I did.

I asked ChatGPT:

Please provide Simple chocolate chip muffin recipe

It provided the following recipe:

Would you like any variations, like adding nuts or using a different type of chocolate?

I took out 3 eggs in the morning to reach room temp, so I asked it to adjust the recipe for 3 eggs:

Make it with 3 eggs. Adjust all quantities

And that's it!
